Delusions About Sin
Matthew 7 Series - Part 6
This is part 6 of the Matthew 7 Series. These articles are concerned with Matthew 7:13-29 and how the soft-marshmallow approach of the last several decades is failing us. It is past time to stop acting like Pharisees and start to act like Jesus, Paul, John the Baptist and Moses. It is important to read this series in order, especially the first three parts.
There are parts of the Bible I have found difficult to accept in the past. For the reasons laid out in the Scripture series of articles I have accepted that scripture is right. And I know I am fallible. If I can't see how something is possible the problem is me, not God and not His word.
There is a heresy being taught in a huge number of churches. It is in direct contradiction of the Bible. It is people judging God for not measuring up to their standards. These people are delusional, and may be the most delusional people in the history of humanity.
It's based on a fallacy that God cannot be both perfectly just and perfectly loving. A loving God must forgive people and not worry about justice. But that is nonsense. A parent who gives blanket approval and forgiveness to their child raises a hellion that is headed for jail later in life. A loving parent enacts justice on their child because they love them, albeit with a serving of mercy when the child repents of their bad behavior and shows they now understand the rules and boundaries. The idiots behind this heresy would scream to high heaven if the judges in their area let everyone go with zero punishment and just released all the murderers and rapists outside their home. That would be unloving to the victims, both past and future.
The perfectly loving and perfectly just God is the judge that sentences the offender to a just fine and jail time, supernaturally knows the offender has actually repented of their crime, then pays the fine and does the jail time for them. Justice is satisfied, and so is love. When God the Son became man and took the punishment we deserved he showed perfect justice and perfect love.
These people actually think God can transcend injustice, but they can't accept that God would punish sin or send people to hell because they don't believe God can transcend love. Thus they are the arbiters of what God can transcend or not. They are the ones who determine God's nature in their own minds. They are demanding that God conform to the way they think He should be. And they won't accept anything less than their expectations. In their minds they just can't stomach the truth because they reject the truth. That is beyond stupid. That is stupidity on a cosmic scale.
One of the more ignorant arguments made against God's justice is that it would be unfair to punish someone with an eternity in hell for sins done in a finite lifespan, however long a human lived. The fundamental error in this is assuming that sin would stop when a person dies. On earth we have the influence of the Holy Spirit. In Hell that influence will be removed. Do you really think people in Hell will sin less? Scripture repeatedly describes Hell as a place where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth. People don't gnash their teeth in sorrow. They gnash their teeth in anger. People in hell will still be judging God for not meeting their standards, cursing God, and blaming God for their situation. Those are all stupid things to do even in Hell. And these people did them when they were on earth, which is even dumber.
Sin is a real thing that requires punishment for there to be justice. Jesus willingly went to the cross to pay price and take the punishment we earned and deserve. All we have to do is put our faith in Him, the real Jesus. This means letting go of our arrogance and trusting Him. We don't have to have all the answers. We don't have to be perfect. We just have to have faith in the real Jesus and let go of our idols. If we worship our false idols and call them Jesus they will not save us. Only the real Jesus can.

Matthew 18 Lies And Distortions
Wolves in sheep's clothing distract from, twist, and even lie about scripture. Almost every fake church will lie about Matthew 18:15-17. And they certainly don't follow it themselves.
